I’m new to knitting and enjoy how it’s meditative and creative. With this blog I hope to start conversations and share patterns and tips for success.
Here are some lessons I’ve learned so far:
- If you want to create a block pattern, let’s say of five rows for each block, you alternate knitting and purling for five rows and then start the second block by repeating the stitch used in the previous row. So, this looks like KPKPK, then KPKPK.
- It’s good to hold your first project lightly. (I unraveled 20 inches of scarf after seeing it was too wide.)
- Knitting is great for generating new ideas for other areas of your life and finding solutions to problems.
What are your thoughts on knitting? I look forward to hearing from you.
